Sample audit

Below is the kind of report we'd send back after reviewing your website. This one was prepared for a sample medspa — yours will be specific to your business and industry, but the format and depth will look just like this.

Executive summary

We reviewed Sample MedSpa's homepage and Services page, plus how AI tools currently respond when potential patients search for medspas in their area.

We found three categories of issues, in priority order: things hurting bookings right now, technical issues slowing the site down, and the AI search question almost no local medspa is paying attention to yet. Each finding below includes what we observed, what it's costing, and what to do about it.

Section 1

Top 3 things hurting Sample MedSpa's bookings

1. The "Book a Consultation" button is hidden on mobile.

What we found: On an iPhone, the "Book a Consultation" button sits two scroll-lengths below the fold on the homepage. On the Services page, it doesn't appear until the bottom of the page. Patients arriving from a Google search or an Instagram link have to actively hunt for how to book.

What to do: Move the "Book a Consultation" button into the top section of every page on mobile, and add a sticky version that stays visible as patients scroll. This is the single biggest fix in the entire audit — patients who can't find a booking button leave within seconds.

2. The contact form is asking too much.

What we found: Sample MedSpa's contact form has nine fields, including required fields for date of birth, address, and "how did you hear about us." Industry data shows that contact forms with more than five fields lose roughly 70% of would-be inquiries before submission. After submission, the form redirects to a blank page with no confirmation — patients aren't sure if their inquiry actually went through.

What to do: Cut the form to four fields: name, email, phone, and what they're interested in. Move the rest of the questions to a follow-up email or the consultation itself. Replace the blank redirect with a clear thank-you message and an estimated response time.

3. The homepage doesn't immediately say what Sample MedSpa does or who it's for.

What we found: The current homepage opens with a stock photo of a woman's face and the words "Welcome to Sample MedSpa." A first-time visitor doesn't learn what services are offered, where the medspa is located, or who it's for until they scroll down past three sections.

What to do: Add one clear headline at the very top: what services, where, who they're for. Something like "Botox, Filler, and Skin Treatments in [City] — for women who want subtle, natural-looking results." Patients decide within 5 seconds whether to stay or leave. Right now they're being asked to figure it out for themselves.

Section 2

Top 3 technical issues to fix

1. The site is slow on phones.

What we found: Sample MedSpa's homepage takes 5.2 seconds to fully load on a typical mobile connection. The biggest culprits are oversized image files (the homepage hero image is 4.8MB — should be under 500KB) and several unnecessary tracking and chat scripts running in the background. Most patients give up and leave at 3 seconds.

What to do: Compress all images on the homepage and Services page (we'd handle this), remove three of the unused tracking scripts, and enable basic browser caching. Realistic improvement: load time drops to under 2 seconds, mobile bookings increase noticeably within a few weeks.

2. Sample MedSpa can't see what's actually working.

What we found: Google Analytics is installed but isn't tracking conversions. There's no way to see which pages bring in bookings, which traffic sources are wasted ad spend, or which pages have abandoned forms. The result: every marketing decision is being made on guesswork.

What to do: Set up conversion tracking for every call, every booking submission, and every contact form completion. Connect it to the existing Google Analytics so the monthly report actually answers "what's bringing clients in." This is a one-time setup that pays back every month after.

3. Sample MedSpa's Google Business Profile is incomplete and out of date.

What we found: The business profile is missing key services, has only a handful of photos, hasn't been updated in over a year, and doesn't appear in the local 3-pack for "medspa near me" searches in its area. Half of all local-intent searches end on Google Business Profile, not on a website.

What to do: Complete every section of the profile (services, hours, photos, descriptions), respond to all reviews, post regular updates, and add the right service categories. AI tools also pull heavily from Google Business Profile when recommending local businesses, so this work doubles as AI search visibility groundwork.

Section 3 — the new question

Are AI tools recommending Sample MedSpa?

We asked ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity to recommend a medspa in Sample MedSpa's area. We tested several variations of the question — "best medspa," "best place for Botox," "top rated aesthetic clinic," and a few others. Here's what we found:

ChatGPT: Named 4 local competitors. Did not mention Sample MedSpa.

Claude: Named 3 local competitors. Did not mention Sample MedSpa.

Gemini: Named 5 local competitors. Did not mention Sample MedSpa.

Perplexity: Named 6 local competitors. Did not mention Sample MedSpa.

What this means

A growing share of patients — especially first-time, higher-spending patients researching procedures like Botox, filler, or laser treatments — ask AI tools for recommendations before they ever look at Google. Right now, those patients are being sent to Sample MedSpa's competitors.

What to do

Three things, in order:

1. Add the right structured-data tags to the site so AI tools can read what Sample MedSpa actually does, where it's located, and what services it offers.

2. Write a small set of FAQ-style content that answers the questions patients are asking AI ("how much does Botox cost in [City]," "what's the difference between dermal filler and Botox," etc.) — content that AI tools can cite.

3. Re-check monthly to track which AI tools start naming Sample MedSpa over time. Almost no local medspa is doing this yet — the window to be first is real but it's closing.

Recommended fix order

Sequenced for fastest measurable impact. Most of these are completed in the first month; the AI Search Visibility work begins in month two and continues monthly.

Week 1: Add the "Book a Consultation" button to the top of every mobile page and make it sticky. Add a clear one-sentence headline to the homepage so patients know what Sample MedSpa does and who it's for.

Week 1–2: Cut the contact form from nine fields to four. Replace the blank redirect with a thank-you confirmation.

Week 2: Compress oversized images. Remove unused tracking scripts. Enable browser caching. Mobile load time should drop from 5.2 seconds to under 2.

Week 2–3: Set up conversion tracking for calls, bookings, and form submissions. Start measuring what's actually working.

Week 3: Complete and optimize the Google Business Profile — services, photos, hours, posts, review responses. This work compounds with the AI search work that follows.

Month 2 onward: Begin AI Search Visibility work — structured data, citation-ready content, and monthly tracking. Start showing up when patients ask ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity for medspa recommendations.
